Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between active and passive tracking?

Active tracking uses sensors that communicate data in real-time regardless of location and do not require any manual or robotic scanning. Passive tracking uses sensors that send data only when scanned or tapped by a human or a robot, or the asset with the sensor passes through infrastructure with automated scanning capabilities.

GPS, LoRaWAN, and BLE are examples of our active tracking sensors.  GPS sensors are an all-in-one hardware device requiring no infrastructure and will emit a signal at designated intervals to send visibility data to the server. BLE sensors can be both active and passive. Our BLE and LoRaWAN sensors operate with minimal infrastructure and can be configured to transmit at various intervals without having to use robots or humans to manually scan.

What does TAA-compliant mean?

TAA is an acronym for U.S. Trade Agreements Act. If something is TAA compliant it means that it meets specific requirements including that it is manufactured in a TAA approved country.  A portion of the parts and components to make the item can be from non-TAA compliant countries as long as the finished manufactured product is from a TAA approved country. TAA compliance is critical for companies that sell to the government.

Our patented technology creates a unique intelligent product identifier from the birth of an asset through its lifecycle. It is encrypted ensuring that the information is accessible by only the authorized parties.

Our LX Digital Fingerprint can be applied anywhere – directly on the product, printed on labels, or applied to our array of IoT sensors/trackers, ensuring you can collect data and actively or passively track items for all use cases.

We are also able to ingest data from existing identifiers including barcodes, UUIDs, serial numbers, and QR codes into our Digital Fingerprint ensuring it is the single source of truth for the product’s lifecycle.
